All our cat mats are handwoven on the peg loom using raw wool from our Herdwick sheep. Herdwick sheep wool is highly warm and insulating, consisting of a double layer: a coarse, rugged outer layer and a dense, soft underlayer. This makes Herdwick sheep well-suited to withstand the wet and cold climate of the Lake District.

Natural Toys for Cats
Play is natural behavior that mimics hunting. A hunting cat is a happy cat. It is essential to stimulate natural behavior in cats on all levels. Hunting behavior includes moving, licking, biting, killing, and devouring. Through hunting, the cat’s stress levels decrease. Various chemicals are released that make her happy. The stress is released from her body, and at that moment, she thinks of nothing else.
Cats have an exceptional sense of smell. While humans have only 5 million scent receptors, cats have 200 million. For a cat with such an extraordinarily good nose, scent enrichment is a real must. Scent-based play triggers natural behavior in cats. Catnip has a magical effect and is often referred to as the "happy herb." It can make cats feel completely invigorated, relaxed, and happy. Valerian has a stimulating effect, allowing cats to go wild and release stress. It can also provide calm and help with relaxation after play.

All our wool cat beds and natural toys are 100% natural and support scent enrichment, prey stimulation, and the natural warmth needs of cats. Each item is handmade and unique; no two pieces of wool or natural toys are exactly the same.
Everything is made from vegetarian raw sheep wool from our own Herdwick sheep. This wool is fair, sustainable, and sourced from ethically raised, happy hobby sheep. All feathers come from our own happy hobby chickens, and all herbs are organic, with almost all coming from our own garden.
